Date of Birth: December 11, 1993
My name is Danilo Javier Calero Lopez and I am 21 years old. I came to CICRIN when I was 9. I dare to say they were the best years of my life because this is where I learned how to love people and places without anything in return. The best part of it all is that I came to know God and his love. While at CICRIN, I learned to commit to goals and dreams.
At 19 years of age I left CICRIN for college life in Managua. I was happy to leave, not because I was leaving CICRIN but because I was about to fulfill a huge goal.
I am currently studying at Politechnic University of Nicaragua (UPOLI). I am pursuing a career in Hotel and Tourism Management and I am in my second year of college. I have learned a lot about hotels and restaurants.
At my church I serve as a Sunday school teacher for our youngest group ages 3-6. During my free time I enjoy playing soccer, and making hand-made bracelets; both of which I learned at CICRIN.
I am very thankful to God and CICRIN where all of those people helped me grow in a loving environment. All I have left now are my memories, like the many festive goodbye parties for the North Americans complete with piñatas, ice cream and soda.
Note: Danilo himself wrote this biography in Spanish. It was translated into English by staff.
